Sustainability is a key part of our platform. Our commitment shows in our actions as elected officials and in how we campaign. The differences are easy to miss, but they make an impact. For example:

CAMPAIGN

• We’re using one combined lawn sign to reduce waste instead of multiple separate signs;

• We researched and bought biodegradable lawn signs. They’re harder to find, but unlike other candidates’ thick plastic signs which won’t break down for decades, ours will biodegrade naturally;

• Our sign frames are made from 90% scrap metal and can be re-used;

• Our palm cards are also printed on 100% recycled card stock;

• We use a mobile canvassing application when door-knocking so we don’t print pages of lists that will only be used once.

IN OFFICE

• Use virtual appearances for routine matters to reduce vehicle trips to the jail;

• Use remote translators to reduce translator trips to court;

• New constable van is a hybrid vehicle;

• Double-sided printing for copies;

• Benchmarking resolution to assess Town buildings’ energy usage.
